Fanfare and Flourish (with Fireflies) is a combination of two works: Fanfare in Sea, and Flourish, with Fireflies.
It incorporates Fanfare in Sea and an orchestrated version of Flourish, with Fireflies (originally written for 16 players for Olly Knussen’s 50th birthday).
It was written for the 2005 Aldeburgh Festival and is dedicated to Olly Knussen. It was first performed by the BBC Symphony Orchestra under Edward Gardner.
