This arrangement for 7 players was made for a concert given as a tribute to Peter Maxwell Davies by the English Chamber Orchestra at Kings Place, London, on November 4 2016. It is based on the same Pavane by John Bull that Max used in his ‘St Thomas Wake : Foxtrot for Orchestra’. It’s a more straightforward arrangement, although I hope it captures some of Max’s subversive spirit.
