Figures, Suspended (2017). Oboe

A 5 minute piece for solo oboe, commissioned as the test piece for the 4th Barbirolli International Oboe Festival and Competition at the Erin Arts Centre, Isle of Man in April 2017 (Port Erin harbour is pictured). The piece was played by all 27 of the contestants in the opening round. The overall winner was Ilyes Boufadden-Adloff from France. A special Faber prize was given for the best performance of Figures, Suspended to the German oboist Fanny Kloevekorn, who played the piece from memory.
