In his second volume of British Clarinet Concertos artist Michael Collins combines the role of soloist with that of conductor of the BBC Symphony Orchestra. The disc includes Benjamin Britten’s Movements for a Clarinet Concerto, assembled by Colin Matthews from sketches Britten made for jazz musician and bandleader Benny Goodman in 1941, together with adaptations of two other scores from the same period.
Also on the disc are pieces by Arnold Cooke, William Mathias and Gerald Finzi.
