Another weekend away – this time to hear the Mahler arrangement commissioned by the Musikkollegium Winterthur for Ian Bostridge. It’s for 12 instruments, and sounded excellent in the fine acoustics of the Stadthaus Winterthur with Ian Bostridge on great form in the songs, all four transposed from the original to match his voice. Another highlight of the weekend was a visit to the Oscar Reinhardt collection in the Römerholz, surely one of the finest private art collections anywhere.
