Colin Matthews

Composer

Matthews can handle grandeur and intimacy with equal skill.

— Fiona Maddocks, The Observer

Little Berceuse (2004). Clarinet Quintet

Little Berceuse is a tiny and essentially gentle piece in ABA shape, where the melody is borne throughout by the clarinet, in appreciation of all that Michael Berkeley has achieved at Cheltenham over the years. It was premiered at the Cheltenham Festival in 2004 and is 4 minutes long.
